Every year, we do this exercise to ensure that we clearly communicate on his areas of comfort and stretch for learning. The goal at CRA is that we provide ample opportunities to feel safe and comfortable but that we routinely stretch into the yellow so that we can build skills. That said, we don't push into the red as that is a zone of discomfort that would be violation to his communicated needs. Instead, we work on the yellow and watch as those red elements routinely begin to pull into yellow over the weeks of working together.... This diagram clearly shows where we are currently as we begin CRA mid-5th grade.

This year, in addition to the learning zones, we also discuss Social Zones of comfort. I felt that this was an important area to understand as we work on literally expanding our bubble post-pandemic.
